she’s a sweetheart from the mountain country in central Faunija and is of the Calam ethnic group (hence why she looks a little different)
Alien chordata species with four pseudo-exoskeletal limbs and one “regularly boned” set (the forearms with the three digit hands). Ezburu are creatures from an alternate plane of existence* that is essentially the equal and opposite of Eden’s with various meshpoints if one knows how to get to them. Their noises are like those of vinyl scratches to human ears, distorted in our universe just like their coloration, which is actually in a spectrum that is not present in our universe but becomes black and white here. They are a colonial sapient species with an organization vaguely similar to that of ants. Young Ezburu are larval and reach adult height and intellectual maturity before they leave the stage. Once they have grown enough, specific hormones are administered into their receptor auxiliary antenna (the long projections with the notches) by the established Regal class, essentially a class of elders as it is reached only after the reproductive systems and others have shut down in exchange for hormone production and distribution. Due to the nature of their four weight-bearing limbs, given the proper hormones prior to their next molt, it is possible but expensive calorie-wise to morph into another class if given the right chemicals.
Classes/Genders
(all are true hermaphrodites that would be capable of reproducing with themselves if they could actually carry the eggs)
Regal- Elder class and fixed (“close morph”), cannot change at this point or reproduce and is generally stuck with some traits of the last “open morph”. Often forms the government body in a given Ezburu society.
Signician-Diplomat and communicator between colonies and within them, often those working in the science fields will be appointed to this typing. They have the most immpressive sails with the greatest accuracy in changing colors and the written language of their kind was influenced by what was easiest to capture (and therefore, like kanji, is phonetic and clumped on top of each other). They are also the general explorers due to their lighter weight and more conservative metabolisms.
Harvester- Farming type workers but also the sort that goes on expeditions. Sturdy build with strong legs and forearms but not super bulky.
Warrior-The tank-like class. The projections from their mandibles tend to be the largest and their legs and back the thickest. Obviously function as guards and troops.
Harem- The breeding portion of the population, fairly similar to the average at all but with a fertile system (non-Harem ones can be active, and often are, but even they are rarely viable) that is highly responsive and can swing either way or both ways depending on the situation. Generally both get impregnated at the same time and their ends bloat up until the eggs are laid.
Ezburu previously had a symbiote relationship with the native sentiens of Lares. Unfortuately, they have gone exinct and the Ezburu have since seen a decline in their own civilization. To return it to its former glory the modern Ezburu hope to create a similar relationship with the human “invaders” of Lares and after nearly two hundred years of study they believe they are ready to send someone off to encounter them face-to-face. The council decides Serthan should be the guinea pig, especially sense ey is so obsessed with humans to begin with and is one of the few decently fluent in English and even a little Spanish, and sends him off.
